Love Yourself

Rumi states, ‘Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.’

“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.”   Siddhartha Guatama Buddha

One of the first concepts to understand in loving yourself is not to push away uncomfortable feelings when you are hurt, feeling low, not feeling the light and love, do not dismiss them. Bring the feelings needing attention within and hold them in light knowing they are a part of you acting out as a little child.

When a child acts out looking for attention and confirmation, what is best for him/her… dismissal, being ignored, chastised, shame, blame, guilt; or acceptance, holding, and confirmation?

Our way of dealing with ourselves, our run away negative emotions is much the same way as dealing with a child who feels lost, unlovable and out of control.

When someone hurts, dismisses, or ignores you, know how we treat ourselves is more severe and detrimental than any treatment outside of us. Negativity directed to self severs our connection, identification and acceptance of our Oneness with the Divine, with the Life Force of abundant, ecstatic living, the core and essence of all Creation.14048f34a0fcfc8b1c3ba62070289ff2

Loving the hurt, pain, discomfort, negativity versus running from it, is the grist for transmutation, it is the use of darkness and light for soul regeneration.  After all, alchemy, transformation is the metamorphosis of the soul.  Until we get this, we miss the opportunities before us, the messages life presents to us to understand and love ourselves.

Divine Consciousness is the purest aspect of the human soul. It is the seed of the Divine within us, the eternal, indestructible part of us. It is the great ‘I AM’, the expression of God we are.

After all, how are we to love others as ourselves if we don’t take the care and effort to learn how to love ourselves?

To the commitment for all of us to truly love ourselves,
